Mini Dwarf 2008

Trophy Division

 

AGE REQUIREMENT: Must be 5 years to 15 years old at season start. Birth Certificate may be required

CAR BODY: Car body style will be of 1928 to 1948 vintage coupe, sedan or truck. Car body to be made of steel or aluminum. No fiberglass or any other type of material allowed. All cars must have driver protection bars built into the frame. Maximum height of car from lower frame rail is 33 inches. Maximum width of car body is 27.5 inches.

WEIGHT: Minimum weight without driver is 250 pounds.

WHEELBASE: Minimum 57.5 inches. Maximum 58.5 inches. Track width a maximum of 42 inches.

SUSPENSION: Solid front axle only. One or two springs without dampeners ok. NO REAR SUSPENSION, axle to be solidly affixed to frame rails.

TIRES/WHEELS: 15 x 6.00 x 6 front, 16 x 6.50 x 8 rear, turf tread tires ONLY. Steel wheels only. Same offset left to right side.

GROUND CLEARANCE: Minimum 2  inches at bottom of seat pan, 4 inches from bottom or frame rails.

ENGINE: All cars are restricted to one rear mounted engine 5.5 horsepower, maximum. The engine must be a four stroke designed for commercial or industrial use only.  No Racing type engines of any kind allowed.  Engines must remain OEM stock for that model engine with No modifications to the head, pistons , block cam, valves, rods, intake or exhaust ports, flywheel or timing. All engines must be carbureted. After market air cleaners are allowed.  The exhaust pipe may be modified to allow for fit the car type and must direct fumes safely out the back of the car.
FUEL: Fuel is restricted to gasoline. Racing fuel ok. No alcohol or fuel additives. MAY BE TESTED AT ANY TIME! Any car found to be using ILLEGAL FUEL will lose all points for that nights race.

FUEL SYSTEM: Any normally aspirated carburetor is ok. No fuel injection is allowed. No pressurized fuel systems.

THROTTLE: All cars must be equipped with a positive throttle return spring at the carburetor and the throttle pedal, so the throttle will close when released. Throttle control must be manually operated by the drivers foot only. All mini dwarfs must be equipped with an engine On/Off switch for the driver to operate

BRAKES: One brake on rear axle ONLY. May be a drum or disk brake. Drilling of rotor ok.  

DRIVE SPROCKETS: Any steel or aluminum split or solid sprocket only. No Jackshafts allowed.

CLUTCH: A maximum of one dry centrifugal type engine clutch permitted. Clutch must be manufactured by Comet (part #217636a12) or Maxtorx (SS series with standard shoes and spring). Clutches must be store bought and not altered in any way. Clutch can only be driven by chain going directly to sprocket or real axle.

BUMPERS/NERF BARS: Front bumper 23 inches wide and 5  inches high. Rear bumper 35 inches wide and 5  inches high. These are the minimum measurements. Side nerf bars may not extend past outside tire width. All mounting points must be in cage of car. Three or four point ok. Maximum of only 2 mounting points on lower frame rail.

INTERIOR: Upholstered sides and rear panel ok or junior racing seat.

HELMET, SEAT BELTS, ARM RESTRAINTS, NECK COLLAR AND GLOVES: Helmet and 5-point harness with sub strap, arm restraints, neck collar and gloves are MANDATORY at all times. Driving suit is not required but is highly recommended. All drivers must wear full-length pants, long sleeved shirt, closed toe shoes and socks.

NUMBERS: All cars must be numbered on roof, left and right sides

CODE OF CONDUCT: We want to promote professionalism and friendship among the drivers and their teams.

DRIVER: All drivers are responsible for knowing flags and the flagman signals. Rough driving WILL NOT be tolerated and will result in being BLACK flagged. It may also result in suspension. Suspension to be determined based on the severity of the offense. A rolled up black flag will be a warning. If rough driving continues, driver will be black flagged and ejected from the race. During heat & feature races, if black flagged for intentional rough driving, driver will be ejected and will receive no points for that race. If driver is black flagged during the feature race for mechanical reasons, driver will receive last place points for that race.

TEAM MEMBERS: All team members will conduct themselves with utmost professionalism. If a problem arises with a driver - the problem will be discussed with the drivers parents. At no time shall an adult address another child with an issue.
